Alabama Roots-->Arkansas Chaos

ree

Hey there! I’m so glad you’ve found your way to my little corner of the internet. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit of my journey—because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that every step, even the messy ones, leads us to where we’re meant to be.

Southern Roots & a Sheltered Start

I grew up in Alabama, raised in a private Christian school where life was pretty sheltered. The kind of childhood where you color inside the lines and say "yes ma’am" and "no sir" without thinking. It was a world of structure and faith, and while it kept me safe in many ways, it didn’t always prepare me for the real-life curveballs that were coming.

When I hit 6th grade, life shifted. I moved to Arkansas and lived with my mom, who worked as a court reporter, and my grandmother, a strong and steady woman who worked as a radiologist. They were both incredible examples of hard-working women, and they raised me with love and resilience.

My dad wasn’t in the picture growing up. I didn’t really get to know him until I was 14. But now? We have a strong, long-distance relationship that I truly treasure. Time doesn’t always fix everything, but it can build something new—and I’m grateful for what we have today.

Young Love, Hard Lessons

At 18, I got married. We had three beautiful children together—little blessings that changed my life forever. But like many stories, ours took a turn. Life threw us challenge after challenge, and despite our best efforts, we grew apart. The breakup was hard, but it taught me strength, independence, and the importance of rebuilding.

Enter: My Second Chance

Life had more in store for me. I met the man who would become my fiancé—a hard-working, big-hearted guy who owns his own auto repair shop and knows how to love fiercely. He brought two amazing kids from a previous marriage into my life, and together, we had one more.

Now? We’ve got six kids between us—three girls and three boys. Just like the Brady Bunch, but with more laundry and way less hair spray. Our home is loud, chaotic, and never ever boring, but it’s filled with laughter, love, and moments I wouldn’t trade for the world.

A Life We Love

Sure, we’re busy. Between school runs, snack times, sibling squabbles, and bedtime battles, some days feel like a marathon. But in the middle of the mess—there’s magic. There are dance parties in the living room, family dinners that somehow turn into food fights, and quiet nights on the porch when the kids are finally asleep and we can just breathe.

We’re not perfect. We’re a blended family finding our rhythm, learning as we go, and giving each other grace along the way. And that, to me, is real love.

Thanks for reading a little about me. If you’re in the thick of motherhood, figuring out second chances, or just trying to survive another Monday, I see you. You're not alone.

With love and probably a crayon in my back pocket,A Mama of Six, Still Learning, Always Loving
